Part One of my Natural beauty series showcases a illuminated and sheer look that allows natural elements such as freckles to shine through. This is a similar look to last weeks natural look, but uses a much more sheer foundation application and a subtle bronzer to warm the overall skin tone. Being very light-handed with the bronzer keeps this look appropriate for winter as well as summer.
- Cleanse skin (1), then apply moisturiser (4) lightly over face and neck.
- Apply a small amount of mattifying lotion (3) to the T-Zone.
- Add illuminating lotion (2) to cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin.
- Prep lips with a small dab of lanolin lip moisturiser (15).
- Lightly fill in brows with a soft waxy pencil (14) in colour of the natural brows, using small, soft strokes to mimic the natural hairs.
- Take an angled brow brush and a brown matte shadow (11) in a colour slightly light than natural brow colour and lightly apply to the bottom of the brow and blend upwards.
- While skincare is being absorbed into the skin, move to eyes and prep whole lid with matte cream eyeshadow (10) in a nude shade, and take the colour to the socket-bone. Blend well, right up to the socket-bone.
- Take a nude powder eyeshadow (11) and lightly apply all over the eyelids, up to socket-bone.
- Apply a medium brown powder shadow (11) to the crease of the eyes starting at the outer corner, and taking it 2 thirds of the way into the crease. Stop before you get to the inner corners.
- Take a clean blending brush and blend the crease further to soften the colour.
- Take a warm peachy powder shadow (11) and apply to the eyelid, from the lashline to the crease. Blend well.
- Take an angled liner brush and apply a matte black gel liner (12) to the upper lashline. End the liner at the outer corner of the eye, skip the flicks.
- Take a small flat-ended liner brush and a touch of light brown powder shadow (11) and run along the whole length of the bottom lashline.
- Key point here is to skip the mascara. It adds to the fresh-faced look. To make the look even more natural, you could swap out the matte black gel liner for a matte brown one.
- Take a small amount of RCMA foundation (5), mix with a bit of Kryolan Mixing Fluid to thin out to a liquid concealer consistency, then apply to the undereyes with a soft blending brush. Apply concealer to corners of the nose, corner of the lips, and over any blemishes.
- Apply a tiny amount of RCMA foundation (5) using a synthetic flat foundation brush. Start from centre of the face and blend outwards to the outer edge of the face. Keep the foundation very light and apply a very thin layer all over the face. Go back and add a tiny bit more coverage over any areas on uneven skintone and blemishes.
- Take a small amount of cream blush (6) in a warm peach shade, apply to apples of the cheeks and blend well outwards and slightly upward.
- Lightly dust the skin with a touch of face powder (7) mixed with a touch of matte powder bronzer (9) to set the face.
- Apply contour powder (8) to the hollows of the cheeks and blend well.
- Apply highlighter powder (8) on top of the high points of the cheekbone with a fan brush, to the brow bone, just above the outer corner of the brows and also down the nose.
- Apply a warm pink lipstick (16) and matching liner.
- As a finishing touch, take a small pencil brush and apply a small amount of highlighter (8) to inner corners of the eyes and to the cupids bow.
