L’Occitane Crème Précieuse

A wonderful little sample pot of L’Occitane Crème Précieuse arrived in last months Glossybox.

It came at a great time for me, as my usually dry/ combination skin has been going through a dry/ extra dry patch lately. While the dryness is mostly due to a reduction in my water intake (I’ve been lazy of late), I needed a boost to help restore my skin to its natural state.

Price: £43

The scent is a strong springtime grassy smell. I find it really off-putting but once absorbed you don’t notice it.

This cream is a medium thickness formula for use twice daily, morning and evening. I found it too heavy for some parts of my face and so have been using it alongside my usual day cream. I use Crème Précieuse at night all over my face and only on my superdry cheeks in the daytime, over my MeMeMe moisturising base. Normally I use Lancôme Hydra Zen moisturiser, but in a massive clearout, I’ve misplaced my brand new pot. It’ll turn up, but in the meantime, I’m substituting. This doubling-up of moisturiser is working to restore my skins moisture but it’s not quite there yet.

Would I repurchase? If it were cheaper, then definitely. It’s great for when my skin has extra dry patches. However I would only use it a few weeks each year and so, for me it’s not worth buying more.

I will stick to my No7 Time Resisting night cream as it is a purse-friendly anti-ageing moisturiser that works for me. For those who think I’m too young for anti-ageing products… Firstly, thank you, it’s very sweet. Secondly, I do need to use it. Skin starts to lose elasticity from mid twenties really, and so at 30 it is definitely good practice to use a good moisturiser regularly (be it anti-ageing or not). I really need to maintain my water intake, it’s only when I get slack that I need more than my existing night cream can handle.

If you’re a Glossybox subscriber or a L’Occitane user, what do you think of the Crème Précieuse? What type of skin do you have and was it right for you?
