Comic book colour pop

As a makeup artist, I love experimenting with bold colours. However in my day to day work, bold brights are few and far between. That’s when test shoots and creative collaborations come into play.

Desperate to get some creative colour into my portfolio, I put out a model call in a Facebook group for local creatives. Model Alex Diaper responded to the casting and together we created these images.

Creating the look

Skincare: Waterbalm by Sonia Roselli Beauty, Dr Lipp Nipple Balm for Lips

Eyes: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creme de Nude, applied lightly and buffed into eyelids as a base, layered with yellow greasepaint from MakeUp Forever Flash Palette. Yellow shade from Editorial Brights palette was applied to the centre of the lids and blended outwards. A slick of Collection black mascara on top lashes. Illamasqua Infinity Gel Liner for graphic eye detail.

Lips: Maybelline lipstick in Fuchsia Flash, Illamasqua Infinity Gel Liner.

Face: Kryolan Shimmering Event Foundation in PearlBobbi Brown corrector in Light Bisque, RCMA cream foundation, MAC contour powder in Sculpt, mixed blush shades from Ben Nye Fashion Rouge paletteBen Nye powder in Bella04, Hourglass Incandescent Light highlighter (from Ambient Light Palette).

I am all about developing and improving. In that vein, I’d love to get some constructive feedback on the looks.
